Western Irrigation District and Irrigation in Southern Alberta: Past Present and Future

This presentation will review the crucial role of irrigation in shaping the landscape of Southern Alberta in social and environmental as well as physical dimensions. The presentation will place a particular focus on the Western Irrigation District and the significant ways in which it has formed and continues to shape the communities in which it provides service. David McAllister serves as the General Manager of the Western Irrigation District in Strathmore. David is a professional engineer with a background and education in environmental engineering, hydrology, infrastructure and organizational management.
